Birthday Celebrations for Maureen!

25th September 2017 By Danny Lowery Leave a Comment

Band members were kindly invited to indulge in drinks alongside guests post-performance

The band were delighted to entertain guests at an 80th birthday party on Sunday 24th September.

The birthday girl, Maureen, wasn’t expecting a brass band to turn up to her birthday celebrations and according to her daughter, Helen, “Mum’s face was a picture!”.

Helen added – “The music was fabulous and everyone joined in! Brilliant time had by us all.”

The performance took place at St. Anne’s Church Club in Stretford where the band performed a 30 minute programme culminating in a special sing-along performance of ‘Happy Birthday’!

The programme was as follows –

Slaidburn
Pack up Your Troubles
Shenandoah
It’s a Long Way to Tipperary
Dance Battaglia (from Three Celtic Dances)
London Prelude (from Two Pieces for Young Bands)
Children’s March (from Two Pieces for Young Bands)
Floral Dance (Some Folks Do)
Happy Birthday

Happy birthday Maureen from all at Flixton Community Band!
